Francisco Javier

From Dallas,Texas, Francisco has always had an innate interest in the arts. He began sketching at an early age. A self-taught artist, his influences include many of the early 20th century surrealist painters, classic and romantic styles, as well as modern and contemporary artists, illustrators, producers, and musicians. Growing up he gained a great deal of inspiration from art that highly reflected Mexican-American culture.  Francisco has been an active member of the Dallas art scene since 2011. He has produced 2 solo exhibitions and participated in several group shows. He’s currently focused on portraiture in acrylics, but also creates works with oils, pastels and charcoal. For the last several years I have been exploring color and its many variations. It highly influences and triggers my creativity. I use my favorite color combinations to create paintings in which color moves vibrantly through space; designing the flow of color by interpreting its relationship with emotion. I paint the characters that live in the dark kingdom of my imagination, bringing them to life by letting them evolve on the canvas before me. It is my hope to create a romantic and surreal experience for the viewer.-FJ
